Testimontials
We thought we would take a short moment to show those that may not be familiar with the band, that we are pretty credible. By no means do we wish to "toot our own horn", but here are some accomplishment and accolades that we,as a band, are pretty proud of, especially considering our short existance starting back October 1997. Enjoy!
We have hosted two "Chee-Weez Cruises" to the Caribbean and are scheduled to play a 3rd in July 2002.
Added to the above two bullets is all of the major venues in the New Orleans and South Louisiana geographic region.
We recently played the Bud Bowl party in downtown New Orleans for the Superbowl as well as a couple of City funded holiday shows (major events).
The band was honored with the “Best new cover band” award (1999) from the local magazine, “Offbeat”. As well as winner of two different fan polls for “best cover band” in 2000 and 2001 respectively.
The Chee-Weez have also been the focus of numerous articles in various entertainment magazines throughout South Louisiana (Where Ya’ At, The Navigator, The Grapevine (front cover), Gambit and Offbeat magazines.
In August of 2002, the band had the distinct pleasure at playing House of blues Parish Room for the first time and actually pre-sold all of the tickets for the room before the doors even opened to the public. Where are very gracious to all of those who went out of their way to make this happen and we aplogize to those that could not get it.
On January 11th, 2003 the band released their first live CD, "As Cheezy As They Wanna Be" in front of a sold out crowd in the House of Blues main room. Tickets for this show were sold out the afternoon of the show. The band has the honor of now being placed at the wall of fame for all sold out performances at the House of Blues.
Opened up for such bands as The Pointer Sisters, 38 Special and K.C. and the Sunshine band in the last year alone.
